EDUCATION AND ITS PROBLEMS IN INDONESIA

Education is a process to humanize human beings. It means that education is an effort to make us smarter and better in order to reveal our natural characteristics (humanness). The purpose of education is actualizing and exploring every single potency that we have. And the process of education supposes to give spaces for all the students to maximize their capability based on their self awareness. So they can acquire many capabilities and knowledge which is useful for their life.

Education institution is one of the ways to transform the values of education to our students. Normally education institution can create such a good atmosphere in learning. So the students can enjoy the process of learning and finally acquire abilities for their own goodness.

But if we take a look at the facts, there are many deviations of education from the way it supposed to be. For example what had happened in IPDN. The death of Cliff Muntu indicates that our education system is very weak. Because, education institution that prepare their students to be civil servant is considered as a place to do violence and crimes. And, if we pay more attention, we can find a very surprising phenomenon in IPDN that all the students can not tell the truth what really happened to their friends.

Besides, there is one more thing that shows the weakness of our education system. As we know, we are facing national examination now. And based on the news from the newspaper, television etc. There are many cases related to this program. Many students do cheating by getting the answers of the exam through mobile phones and any kinds of means. This is happened because they have to pass the exam with high scores. And if they can not do this, they will fail and have to join the next exam. Is this the purpose of education? Forcing the students to get high scores even though by cheating!

Therefore, we can say that the purpose of education in Indonesia is fail. But the problem is how we can find a right form of education in Indonesia. And what is the appropriate pattern of education in Indonesia. Lets discuss it …………………
